Genetic modification changes an organism’s genes. Traditional breeding techniques cannot change the gene in ways that Gm breeding can. For example, cotton can be made insect resistant using genes from a bacteria. GM is commonly used in the genetic industry today + can have a positive effect on organisms.
Cutting DNA from one organism and pasting it to another organism is called gene splicing, this can transfer characteristics from one organism to another. An example of this is they took the DNA of a jelly fish and injected it into a mice and now the mice glows. Gene splicing can be transferred from and organism to another.
Animal cloning is when a donor donates a body cell to create a clone of themselves. This happens when the donor donates a cell and another woman donates a egg then the DNA is placed in that egg. Then an electric stimulus then is placed in the new egg and the clone is created. An example of this is dolly she sheep who was the first successful clone. Cloning is not very successful in animals.
